Artist Larry Jacox (1936-2020) grew up in White Salmon, Washington, a small town in the southeastern part of the state on the banks of the Columbia River and was graduated from Columbia High School. Larry attended the University of Washington for two years as an art major and completed his bachelor’s degree in art education at the University of Nevada. A talented teacher and painter, he was active in various art organizations and taught watercolor classes for many years at the University’s Elder College, later reorganized as Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. This beautifully framed watercolor on paper is the work of Nevada based artist, Larry Jacox. Larry Jacox is most notable for his Western Landscapes executed in watercolor and this piece is a prime example of his extraordinary use of color. The work is from 2005. The image size is 24"(t) x 36"(w) and the framed size is 30" x 40". The piece is beautifully framed with carved wood and thick matting around the image.
