Wood inlay. The scene is set in a countryside with trees resembling olives and a city in the background; in the left foreground, a man furiously beats another man on the ground with a stick, under the alarmed gaze of a farmer. The scene recalls the biblical episode of the killing of Abel, a farmer, by his brother Cain, a hunter. The work is presented in an 18th-century frame. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
