Wakana (Gengjie) is an original modern artwork realized by Utagawa Kunisada in 1850s. Woodcut print Oban yokoe format from the series "Sono sugata yukari no utsushie" (Faithful images of the radiant prince Genji), 35th episode Wakana. Genji with purple robe is welcomed by two young women. Signed Kochoro Toyokuni ga. Publisher: Izumiya Ichibei. Censored by Kinugasa and Murata. Good impression, lightly rubbed, backed, creased, lightly soiled and trimmed, margins slightly damaged. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker.
