Large vintage 1996 framed exhibition print from the Norton Simon Museum, featuring the work of the renowned Japanese ukiyo-e artist Utagawa Hiroshige (1797–1858). The print depicted, titled “Fujisawa,” is the seventh station from Hiroshige’s celebrated woodblock series The Fifty-Three Stations of the Tōkaidō (Tōkaidō Gojūsan-tsugi). The exhibition, titled Cherished Vistas and Famous Places: Hiroshige and the Japanese Landscape, ran from January 18 to September 29, 1996, at the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena, California. The show featured 75 of Hiroshige’s woodblock prints, highlighting his influence on Western artists including Vincent van Gogh and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec.
