Published by The French Government, printed in France in the Mid Century by Braun Mullhouse. The rare French travel poster features a beautiful photographic view of The Abbey of Brantome. The Abbey of Brantome known as Saint peter of Brantome was founded according to legend in the year 769 by Charlemagne himself. It was classified as a historical monument in 1840. It is a Romanesque architecture building, with the vault of the Gothic style church as rebuilt in the XV Century. The abbey is known for its steeple, being the oldest in Campanile in France. The Perigord is a natural region and former province of France. The geography and natural resources or Perigord make it a beautiful, unspoiled region rich in history and wildlife. Perigord is noted for its cuisine, especially the duck and goose products, such as confit de canard and foie gras, and known as a center for truffles and specialty french wines. The rare out of print collector's French travel poster measures 15 3/4" W X 23 1/2" H. It is in very good vintage condition consistent with age and light signs of handling. it has never been framed.
