Beautiful large painting on canvas featuring a Hungarian horse race day! I traveled to Budapest once and witnessed the horse race that took place in the city square. Winning horses and their riders came from all over the regions on the country to compete for the best in Hungary. There was lots of pomp and ceremony and traditional dress for both the horses and riders. Craftsmen, musicians, dancers and traditional food was up and down the streets. The mood was happy and proud. It was beautiful and a day I’ll never forget! This painting elicits all of the excitement of that day! Signed Molzer, bottom right. Measures 27.75” tall, 39.5” wide, 1” deep. Has a foam board screwed to the frame on the back, no doubt in an effort to protect the canvas. And it seems to have worked as the canvas has no damage. You can see it is unframed. Please notice the white tape the artist used on the outer edges, all the way around. It overlapped on the surface, upper left.
