Wilhelm Lorenz - Tiger At Rest - Original Pencil - Mid-20th Century

Chairish

$349

Tiger at rest is a beautiful original drawing on sketch paper realized in the XX century by the German artist Wilhelm Lorenz, also known as Willi Lorenz. This is a preparatory study representing a tiger at rest, made with fresh lines and a sure touch. This modern artwork is in very good condition. Hand signed on the lower right side of the drawing W.L\. Wilhelm Lorenz (Germany, 1901–1981), also known as Willi Lorenz, was a German painter specialized in paintings of animals typically hunted as a game. His highly detailed oil paintings evoke the texture and movement of animals like boars, foxes, buffalos, and lions, depicted in their natural habitats and attitudes. His artworks resemble the works by Max Josef Hänger Lorenz. Willi Lorenz attended the Düsseldorf Academy of Art before moving to Cologne to start his artistic career. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
