This gilded bronze clock features a delicately chiseled bronze dial decorated with enamel Roman numerals at the hours and graduated Arabic numerals at the minutes. The movement is signed on its plate by the watchmaker “G.Philippe at 66 and 67 Palais Royal” appearing in the Tardy, a veritable bible of the profession. This meticulously crafted piece is crowned with a cup containing the eternal flame. The sides feature lion's muzzle carrying rings. The movement cylinder is supported by acanthus leaf consoles. The whole rests on a stepped base of rectangular section.
