This stone basin was carved by hand over two centuries ago, sculpted from solid limestone with and irregular texture and asymmetrical shape. The vessel is minimally worked to preserve the natural feel of the stone, its raw, organic texture softening towards the interior from years of use as a water trough. Originally placed on a provincial Chinese farm as a trough for livestock, the stone basin is ideal today as a statement water feature, sink basin or garden planter, contrasting delicate foliage with the hard permanence of stone. Drilled with a single drainage hole.
