A lovely example of a 1930s swedish armchair designed by axel larsson and made by bodafors. It has a generous seat with beautifully curved honey-coloured beech armrests and its period woven rope cord seat and back. Its simple, organic scandinavian midcentury modern design, ensures it will remain a timeless piece. the front two legs show areas of wear, most likely from a dog, however this does not detract from such a charming chair that is solid, comfortable and incredibly stylish. Measurements: 81cm h x 54cm w x 56cm d - seat height 41cm during the years 1925–1956 axel larsson was employed as a designer at the swedish furniture company ab svenska möbelfabriken in bodafors. The company also collaborated with other swedish furniture designers such as carl malmsten, bertil fridhagen, oscar nilsson and bruno mathsson.
