An Italian Neoclassical carved and painted wood console table, with its original marble top, from the 18th century. This antique table from Italy retains its original white marble top; a slender, rectangular-shaped piece with shallow outward projections about the front center and along each corner. It rests above the apron with beautifully pierce-carved acanthus lattice about three sides, a floral medallion plaque at center and smaller floral carvings at each corner, and outlined along the bottom in a petite bead trim. The table is presented upon four rounded and tapering legs, embellished with flute carvings and acanthus wraps. The finish is a muted gold with hints of silver grey showing through from beneath. The backside of the table remains un-adorned so best use would be placed against a wall. This period Neoclassical Italian table, with finely carved apron and original marble top, will make a fabulous console for an entry foyer or living area.
