Here’s my top candidate for “less is more.” This subtle, minimally decorated Noverdy lighting bowl steals the show with its simplicity and resulting elegance. The shape of the bowl is reason enough for the accolades, the “high style” Art Deco design seals the deal. The bowl measures 13 ¾ inches across and hangs down a total of 22 inches as shown. It's made of colorless glass and frosted white, probably the result of acids applied (as opposed to sand-blasting). Any "color" you see in the photos is likely the result of the photography. There are a couple of minor rough spots on the interior of the rim, and one tiny “flea bite” on the exterior. None of these detract from the overall beauty of the piece. The hardware includes a bronze, brushed-nickel canopy I have reproduced from the original that I bought in France (knowing that I’d likely never again see anything as elegant, and certainly not in multiples). The tubes and other hardware is all made of solid brass, with a fresh brushed nickel finish as well. The bowl is fitted with one new American standard-size socket which can take any wattage bulb you care to use.
