This beautiful antique bridal chest dates from around 1900 and has an extremely decorative painting. This example comes from Romania and is a beautiful example of folk art from that time. In the past, it was customary to give bridal furniture like this as a gift to the couple at a wedding. This furniture was subsequently placed on the farm in a stately room that was only rarely used for high-ranking visitors or special occasions. All our bridal chests have been checked and, if necessary, restored, although the characteristic appearance of these cases has been retained. This copy is mainly painted with the national colors of Romania. The paint has worn beautifully throughout. 42cm high, 116cm wide, 52cm deep.
