On the right, a traveler with an umbrella on which are written the characters TAKENOUCHI, the name of the series: The Fifty-Three Stations. Next to the traveler, a peasant with his hoe on his shoulder. Two bearers of a light palanquin climb the slope, preceded by a peasant in a straw coat. The original artwork is traditionally appreciated for its pictorial composition and the delicacy of the colors. This reproduction print is not a woodblock reproduction, but offset, full-color print. Detailed. Comes from a rare art folio published by Editions du Credit Lyonnais in Paris, France, in 1960. Printed in France, on one side of high quality heavy paper.
