He was trained by his own father, who was a local painter and architect. He was known as a copyist and his paintings were characterised for their sexuality. The painting depicts a pair of putti playing with each other on a meadow. One of the two is sitting on a red drape while the other is holding his hand. The scene takes place outdoors, above a meadow, while the two chubby infants play under a tree whose trunk can be seen in the background.
