This authentic 18th-century copperplate etching, titled "Japo", is a highly significant ethnographic work published in Augsburg, Germany by the celebrated printmaker and art publisher Jeremias Wolff (1663–1724). The artwork captures a stylized representation of a Japanese figure in traditional flowing robes, carrying swords and a large polearm, set against a backdrop with traditional architectural structures.
