Chinese landscape scroll, freely drawn colored inks on heavy paper, mounted on a light blue and gold, silk brocade, in a pattern of dragon and fenghuang medallions, signed, with a short poem in caoshu script with eight red seal marks. In the foreground are shoreline hills and plateaus with gnarled trees, shrubs and grasses. Mid ground there is a sampan poling in a bay surrounded by bouldered massifs dotted with sparse habitat, while lofty mountain peaks fade into the distance in traditional Chinese aerial perspective. The image size is 25 1/4" wide x 50 3/4" high. With a dark silk hanging cord and storage cord at the top and black jikusaki at the bottom. Circa early 20th century, no later than mid century.
