Chinese landscape scroll, freely drawn colored inks on heavy paper, mounted on a black, gray and gold, dragon and phoenix medallions, silk brocade, signed, with poems in Caoshu script and with numerous red seal marks in various sizes and shapes. A viewing hut on a flat promontory is in the foreground nestled within a grove of tall pines amid large boulders, with a few more houses mid ground, near flat mesas and lofty mountain peaks fading into the distance in unique Chinese aerial perspective. The image size is 25 1/4" wide x 49 3/4" high. With a dark silk hanging cord and storage cord at the top and black jikusaki at the bottom. The outer scroll cover repeats the silk brocade mounting of the painting. Circa early 20th century, no later than mid century.
