Jean-Honoré Fragonard, Grazing Herds With Figures, Original Print, 1772

Chairish

$319

Grazing herds with figures is a wonderful etching and aquatint realized in 1772 by the Abbot of Saint-Non, after Jean-Honoré Fragonard. Titled, dated and signed on plate on the lower right margin. This modern artwork, representing "Grazing herds with figures", is in very good conditions, except for a usual yellowing and some minor stains on paper beyond the marginal line of the matrix. Jean-Claude Richard de Saint-Non, also known as Abbot of Saint-Non, or Abbé de Saint-Non (Paris, 1727 - 1791), was an engraver, draftsman, and humanist, as well as archaeologist, patron, and traveler. A portrait of him, made by his friend Jean-Honoré Fragonard, is held at the Louvre Museum.
