The Tiles Line Wall Sconce from Violaine D'Harcourt centers on a screen-printed ceramic tile, made in collaboration with Dutch designer Marianne Smink, whose surface carries natural-hued imagery that gives it a distinct character. The tile is hand-shaped at a small workshop in Coimbra, Portugal, and the variations that come with that process, slight shifts in texture and tone, are part of what makes each piece its own. Light is cast indirectly, washing gently off the tile rather than projecting outward, producing a diffused glow that feels very much at ease.
