Extraordinary antique bridal cabinet, personally one of my favorites we currently offer. Even though this cabinet is not dated we can safely assume that the piece of furniture was made around 1750 and it was made in the northeastern Upper Palatinate / Egerland. The design is very primitive and simple, as is the painting. The panels are decorated with a light blue motif, and the cabinet itself is in the original Faux-Bois painting. The cabinet is made of particularly thick planks of pine and the whole is therefore of rather heavy quality. Of course there are slight traces of use, although the cabinet is still in surprisingly good condition for its age. There are some old repairs on the door but otherwise there is little to notice. The cabinet still has the original working lock with key and the layout of the cabinet has remained unchanged in 275 years. It used to be customary to give bridal furniture like this as a gift to the couple at a wedding. This furniture was afterwards placed on the farm in a showroom that was only rarely used on high visits or special occasions. So a beautiful and decorative piece of history. 165cm high, 136cm wide, 53cm deep.
